Ask the installer to put the scope in writing. Which model is proposed? What connection or vent work is included? Who handles removal and any required permits? What is excluded? Two quotes with the same tank size can describe different work.
For a photo quote request, include the whole heater, its model label and the surrounding connections. Take photos only from a safe, accessible position. Do not move equipment or remove covers to get a better picture. A technician may still need an on-site inspection before confirming scope and price.
